I am calling this bracelet the Polar Plunge because it seems super icy and chilly feel to me. The Polar Plunge can also we worn in warm climates! The beads are a cool mixture of antique Blue Russian trade bead, labradorite, amethyst from Brazil, charoite from Siberia and Sapphires from India. It is strung on jewelers elastic and measures about 7 inches. Custom lengths available upon request.
That is the name given to the beautiful Cobalt Blue, hand faceted, tubular glass trade beads originally traded by the Russians to the Alaska Natives in exchange for Sea Otter pelts or anything else they might want. The beads were actually made in Bohemia and were sold to the Russians for trade. The beads were a desirable form of currency. Kind of like the Wampum of the far north. They range in size from approximately 10mm down to 5mm in length and some are slim and some are chunky. The larger the size of the bead the greater the value. (https://walkergoldsmiths.com/)
